On windows the executables have a .exe extension, which confuses the search function in the perl wrapper, which stops "make test" from working and means you have to use verilator_bin directly or set VERILATOR_BIN. I've fixed in in the wrappers so it will work out of the box here: patstew@2f21dfb
I'd understand if you don't want to pollute your code with windowsisms though.
